2. Personal Data We Collect

We limit the collection of personal data to what is strictly necessary to provide our services:

• Vehicle Lookups: Registration plates and VIN numbers queried by users are processed in real time against public government APIs (RDW, DVLA, NHTSA). Lookups do not include personal driver details, names, or addresses.
• MOT / APK Alert Subscriptions: If you voluntarily register your email address to receive inspection expiration alerts, we collect and store your email address along with the vehicle registration plate and country code.
• Technical Logs: Standard web server logs including IP address, user-agent, browser type, and timestamp for network security and diagnostic purposes.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following legal grounds under Article 6 of the GDPR:

• Explicit Consent (Art. 6.1.a): When you explicitly submit your email for MOT/APK inspection reminder alerts.
• Legitimate Interest (Art. 6.1.f): To maintain site stability, prevent cyber threats, analyze aggregated usage metrics, and improve our services.

4. Data Retention & Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties. Vehicle queries are processed transiently and cached temporarily to optimize server performance. Email addresses stored for inspection alerts are retained until the alert expires or until you request unsubscription.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess the following rights:

• Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data held about you.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request immediate deletion of your email address from our alert lists.
• Right to Rectification & Restriction: Request correction of inaccuracies or restrict processing.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Unsubscribe from alerts at any time via email.
